When we\u2019re young, we believe wisdom comes from books, teachers, or long experience. But as I\u2019ve grown older, I\u2019ve learned that most of what really matters is not about information \u2014 it\u2019s about attention. It\u2019s about noticing what endures when everything else changes.<\/em><\/p>\n

The world my grandchildren are growing into will move faster than anything I\u2019ve known. There will be more noise, more distractions, more opinions shouted as truth. But beneath all of that motion, the essentials will still be waiting \u2014 love, kindness, curiosity, courage, listening.<\/em><\/p>\n

That\u2019s what I want them to remember. Not my advice or my accomplishments, but the quiet things that make a life feel whole.<\/em><\/p>\n

And so, this is for them. . . and maybe, in some way, for you too.<\/em><\/p>\n

First: It\u2019s okay to feel everything.<\/strong>
\nEven the messy things. Especially the messy things.
\nYou don\u2019t have to make sense of your feelings right away.
\nThey don\u2019t need to be fixed \u2014 they just need to be heard.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to be perfect.<\/strong>
\nNot now. Not ever.
\nThere\u2019s no prize for holding it all together.
\nThe real courage is showing up honestly \u2014 just as you are.<\/p>\n

I hope you remember this, too:
\nBeing strong doesn\u2019t mean being silent.<\/strong>
\nLet yourself cry when you need to.
\nAsk for help.
\nSpeak from your heart, even when your voice shakes.<\/p>\n

There is so much beauty in you.
\nNot because of what you achieve.
\nNot because you\u2019re always calm or kind or wise.
\nJust because you\u2019re here.
\nJust because you are.<\/p>\n
